localhost radar Open Radar

One small helper, and Radar can see who started what.

A browser can't see which program owns a port. Radar's helper can: it reads your process list, works out which AI tool started each server, and stops one when you ask. Your browser starts it only when Radar needs it; it doesn't run in the background, and it never uses the network.

Looking for the helper…
  1. Download the installer for this computer

    Download

It's generated right here for this copy of Radar (ID ), and contains the helper as readable source. You can read the helper first.

  2. Run it in Terminal

If your browser saved it somewhere other than Downloads, change the path.

  3. Come back here

This page checks every two seconds and turns green when the helper answers. No browser restart needed.

what it reads
Listening ports, and for each one its process, parent processes, working folder and a few environment markers (such as CLAUDECODE or CODEX_THREAD_ID), only for your own user.
what it asks
Each local server's home page, for its status, title and icon. Nothing beyond this computer.
what it changes
Nothing, unless you press Stop. Then it checks that the process is still the one you saw, sends the normal shutdown signal, and only forces it if you ask.
where it lives
who can start it
Only Radar. Chrome enforces this using the extension ID written into the helper's manifest.
